In the manual to accompany this attunement the founder explains, “The Pagan goddess Brigid is perhaps one of the oldest goddesses of Celtic Europe still recognized and worshipped. In fact, until the midtwentieth century in Scotland, she was still welcomed in at Imbolc by the symbolic rekindling of the hearth fire after the house had been cleaned from top to bottom for spring.
Brigid has been known by many names, mostly depending upon the specific location or time period. Worshipped in Ireland, Wales, Spain, France, and Britain, she was called Brighde in Ireland, Bride in Scotland, Brigantia in Northern Britain, Brigandu in France, and also known as Brid, Brig and Brighid… Her name is taken to mean “Power,” “Renown” and “Fiery Arrow of Power.”
She was the Goddess of Healers, Poets, Smiths, Childbirth and Inspiration.
She was also Goddess of Fire and Hearth and a patron of warfare.
She is said to be present at every birth.
As the Goddess of Inspiration, she blesses poetry, creativity, prophecy and the arts.
She was even esteemed as the patron deity of language, having inspired the alphabet.
As Goddess of Healing, she blesses physical and spiritual healing, fertility of crop and livestock and mid-wifery.
As a Goddess of Herbalism, Midwifery and Healing she was in charge of Water as well as Fire.”
