The energies of this empowerment call on the Sacred Spirit Keepers; the buffalo to the North, the eagle to the East, the coyote to the South and the bear to the West to bring in their energies of protection.
Native American Shamanic tradition has a deep connection to nature and Mother Earth. Many traditions revered the circle of life and this was reflected in the medicine wheel. Medicine wheels have four main points, representing the four directions, each point is guarded by a spirit keeper. Spirit keepers varied from tribe to tribe, but the four that I have channelled are usually found in North American Shamanic tradition, being the buffalo, eagle, coyote and bear.
The four Spirit Keepers are ;
The Buffalo-The Buffalo is the spirit keeper of the North. He is associated with the colour white, the element earth, the herb sweetgrass and the season Winter. Buffalo medicine teaches us gratitude, wisdom and appreciation, he is also a symbol of renewal, purity and cleansing.
The Eagle- The Eagle is the spirit keeper of the East. He is associated with the colour yellow, the element air, the herb tobacco and the season Spring. Eagle medicine teaches us to be a free spirit, to soar, to trust our higher self. He is also a symbol of wisdom, clarity and vision.
The Coyote – The Coyote is the spirit keeper of the South. He is associated with the colour red, the element fire, the herb sage and the season Summer. Coyote medicine teaches us self- acceptance, adaptability and reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously. He is also a symbol of curiosity, wisdom and folly.
The Bear – The Bear is the spirit keeper of the West. He is associated with the colour black, the element water, the herb cedar and the season Autumn. Bear medicine teaches us to set boundaries and be confident in who you are. He is also a symbol of protection, healing and introspection.
The energies of this empowerment can be used for self-protection, energy work protection, creating and protecting sacred space, protecting space such as office, home, etc.
